Environment

Environmental design

We leverage our experience and management capabilities to produce effective environmental studies and analyses that help define the impacts associated with the implementation of major projects.

These services enable private clients and public administrations to identify and assess the environmental impacts produced by the execution of a given project.

Specialist studies

  • Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale (V.I.A.)
  • Valutazione Ambientale Strategica (V.A.S.)
  • Verifica di assoggettabilità (Screening ambientale)
  • Valutazione di incidenza Ambientale (V.I.N.C.A.)
  • Valutazione di Sostenibilità Ambientale e Territoriale (V.A.L.S.A.T.)
  • Autorizzazioni ambientali
  • Autorizzazione Integrata Ambientale (A.I.A.)
  • Autorizzazione Unica Ambientale (A.U.A.)

Waste management

Waste management has become increasingly significant at national level and is directly visible to citizens. The uncontrolled growth in consumption and urbanisation in recent decades has, on the one hand, greatly increased waste production and, on the other, reduced uninhabited areas where waste can be treated or disposed of.

These services therefore enable private clients and public administrations to identify and assess the environmental impacts produced by the implementation of a given project.

Modern society is thus compelled to manage large quantities of waste in increasingly limited spaces. Studio Mattioli has developed extensive experience in waste management, particularly in assessing the environmental effects associated with waste production, transport and disposal activities:

• Planning of collection, disposal and recovery systems;

• Development of environmental management systems for waste management companies and treatment/disposal facilities;

• Waste management control: support contracts for periodic checks with our technicians specialised in waste management (storage, registers and forms, etc.); legislative updates on new EU and national provisions;

• Technical, economic and permitting feasibility studies for the development of disposal plants;

• Environmental impact and environmental compatibility studies for disposal plants; studies for the application of clean technologies aimed at reducing waste generation at source for various types of industrial facilities;

• Consulting for public bodies, professionals and private companies for waste management.

Infrastructure and major works

In the context of infrastructure projects, Studio Mattioli designs and implements environmental monitoring programmes capable of analysing and identifying the extent of impacts on the environment and population before, during and after construction. We also prepare Excavated Soil and Rock Management Plans (Piani di Utilizzo) for the management of excavated soil and rock generated by project implementation.

Environmental Monitoring Plans

Design, implementation and coordination of Environmental Monitoring Plans (EMP/PMA).
Development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS/SIT) for the implementation, management and consultation of environmental monitoring data.

Excavated soil and rock management plans

Among Studio Mattioli’s activities is the preparation of plans for the use of non-contaminated excavation materials pursuant to Article 5 of Ministerial Decree 161/2012. The plan is a management document for excavated soil and rock that demonstrates the conditions under which such materials are considered by-products rather than waste.
A plan therefore defines: the locations of the excavation material production sites, the related volumes, the locations of reuse sites, the identification of any standard industrial practices adopted, and the results of environmental characterisation of the excavation materials (sampling methods, sample preparation and analyses, including the set of analytical parameters considered).
IN EVIDENZA
